October 14, 2016 [The Moscow Times] - Russia has ended an agreement to cooperate with Kiev on oil transportation through Ukraine.

The treaty, which has been in place since 1995, had governed a pipeline running from the Russian city of Samara through Ukrainian territory.

The sections of the pipeline which ran through Ukraine were sold by Russian state company Transneft to the Swiss firm International Trading Partners AG in February 2016.

Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said that the agreement was simply “no longer needed.”
