PERN Przyjazn Plans to Build an Oil Terminal in Gdansk in 2 Years Time

April 3, 2013 [PERN Przyjazn S.A.] – A new oil terminal in Gdansk worth over 100 million euros will be ready by 2015.


“The investment in a modern oil terminal on the coast of Gdańsk will strengthen Poland’s position in the market of crude oil and oil products in the Baltic Sea,” – said the Minister of Treasury Mikołaj Budzanowski.

The tender for the construction of the terminal under the EPC-contractor was won by the Polish-Slovak-Ukrainian consortium led by Polish IDS – Bud S.A..

” In terms of energy security this is a very important investment for the Polish economy. Construction work in the port of Gdansk will begin in 2014, “- said Marcin Moskalewicz, CEO PERN Przyjazn S.A..

The oil terminal will be built in the North Harbor of the Port of Gdansk and will cover an area of ​​28 hectares. About 20 tanks will be built, ranging in size between 10,000 m3 and 63,000 m3.

The total capacity of the tank farm will be 700,000 m3, of which – 400,000 m3 intended for crude oil and 300,000 m3 for other petroleum products.

The terminal will be constructed in two stages: in the 1st phase capacity designed for crude will be built, in the 2nd phase (depending on the demand of the market) – capacity for other petroleum products could be added.
