Tepsa Terminales Portuarias S.L. Terminales Portuarias S.L. is an independent company fully owned by corporation Petrofrance SA that, since its establishment, specialises exclusively in the activity of reception, storage and forwarding of bulk liquid products of three broad classes: Chemical, Petroleum Products and Biofuels. Terminales Portuarias S.L. launched its activity at the Barcelona Terminal providing an area of 7,200 m³ in 1964. Today, we operate at four major Spanish ports: Barcelona, Bilbao, Tarragona and Valencia, which together provide a combined storage capacity of over six hundred thousand cubic meters ( 608,935 m³ ) that handle traffic turnover above four million tons per year (4.000.000 MT). Thanks to the company's independence from any other industrial or commercial activity connected to the goods in storage, costumers and users of its facilities hold Terminales Portuarias S.L. to be a strategic ally for their logistics operations. Terminales Portuarias S.L. has succeeded in attracting and developing new projects, the outcome of which has been the gradual increase of its storage capacity and volume of goods at all the terminals. TEPSA OBTAINS THE ECO MANAGEMENT AND AUDIT SCHEME (EMAS) CERTIFICATIONOn November 12th, TEPSA successfully completed the auditing process of their Environmental Management System in accordance with the requirements specified in the European Regulation (EC) 761/2001 - EMAS II, currently implemented at all TEPSA terminals in Barcelona, Bilbao, Tarragona and Valencia. As with previous certification processes, AENOR was the agency in charge of TEPSA’s Environmental Management System review and Environmental Declaration validation procedures. The most significant aspect regarding the adaptation of the Environmental Management System to the EMAS II EC Regulation involved the publication of the company’s Environmental Declarations. This step provides transparency to the company’s system and displays their willingness to disclose their environmental issues and enhancement programmes to be implemented in the near future. TEPSA, always concerned about the Environment and our surroundings, ensures at all times that all and each operations carried out at their facilities comply strictly with current environmental legislation. As a result, goals and targets are set on an annual basis with the purposes of cutting down consumption of energy and other products, minimizing waste and improving the efficiency of our liquid effluents and atmospheric emissions. In addition, TEPSA also invests in cleaner technologies and more efficient treatment systems. The starting point of this Responsible Care scheme focuses on the observance of current Occupational & Environmental Health & Safety laws.
